Joseph Oyebog Jr’s Father Is A Former Tennis Player

Joseph Oyebog Jr.’s dad, Joseph Oyebog Sr., played in the Davis Cup for Cameroon. Moreover, he won many tennis titles in his country.

Senior Oyebog loved tennis so much that he wanted to give back. This led him to set up the Oyebog Tennis Academy (OTA) in Souza Cameroon.

Being a tennis player himself, Junior Oyebong”s father knew how hard it was to make it in tennis without money or support.

He started his academy to help young players who didn’t have much.

Still, when Oyebog Sr. began the OTA, he didn’t have much.

However, he went for it and as time passed, the academy grew a lot.

Now it has several courts, places for students to sleep, a health center, and a school.

His work in tennis and with kids has made a big difference in Westport. He’s taught young tennis players there for many years.

In 1994, Oyebog Sr. came to the United States. He went to train at the well-known Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, which people now call IMG Academy.

His work with the OTA has made a big impact in Africa, and two students got full rides to colleges in America.

Oyebog Sr. keeps inspiring and helping young tennis players grow, not just in Cameroon but in other places too.
